Quick answer
Choose the Sunflower Pendant if you want a delicate, symbolic piece that supports mental illness awareness. Choose the GWGC Bean if you prefer a coffee-inspired design that supports grounds for health. Both are meaningful, but the Sunflower Pendant offers a lower entry price.
Design and symbolism: floral vs. coffee
The Sunflower Pendant is a mini sunflower design created in memory of Jacqueline Boulton, with £15 from every sale donated to ReThink Mental Illness via Work For Good. It’s a subtle way to show support for mental health awareness.
The GWGC Bean is a solid sterling silver bean pendant carved from wax, inspired by a love of coffee and created in collaboration with Girls Who Grind Coffee. It’s a playful piece for coffee enthusiasts who want their jewelry to reflect a daily ritual.
Donation impact and price
The Sunflower Pendant has a catalog price of USD 50.37 (compared to USD 69.00) and includes a £15 donation to ReThink Mental Illness. The GWGC Bean is priced at USD 58.22 (compared to USD 82.00), but the catalog does not specify the donation amount or charity. If transparent giving is important, the Sunflower Pendant provides clear donation information.
Wearability and chain options
The Sunflower Pendant offers chain options, so you can choose a length that suits your neckline. The GWGC Bean comes on an 18-inch chain, a standard length that works for most people. Neither pendant’s metal type is specified beyond the GWGC Bean being sterling silver; if you have metal sensitivities, check the product details before ordering.
Key trade-offs
- Price vs. donation transparency: The Sunflower Pendant costs less and states a £15 donation to ReThink Mental Illness. The GWGC Bean costs more but does not list a donation amount or charity. If you want to know exactly how much goes to charity, pick the Sunflower Pendant.
- Design preference: The Sunflower Pendant is floral and symbolic of mental health awareness. The GWGC Bean is a coffee bean, appealing to coffee lovers. Choose the design that matches the wearer’s personality or the cause you want to highlight.
- Chain flexibility: The Sunflower Pendant lets you select a chain, while the GWGC Bean comes on a fixed 18-inch chain. If you need a specific chain length, the Sunflower Pendant offers more control.
