GWGC Bean

As you’re all probably aware, we’re partial to a coffee (or five) at BMM HQ. It’s an integral part of our day. #DeathBeforeDecaf

We’ve been fanatics of Girls Who Grind Coffee for quite some time so thought we’d reach out to collaborate, for charity.

Therefore, we’re excited to add to our charity collection, the GWGC Bean.

Originally carved from wax and now cast into solid sterling silver, hung from an 18″ diamond cut curb.

£10 from every sale will be heading straight to the GWGC’s chosen charity, Grounds For Health, a charity on a mission to prevent cervical cancer in coffee communities.

Also available on GWGC’s website, click here if you wanted to add coffee or merch to your order!

Read below a little more about GWGC & their chosen charity, Grounds For Health:

GWGC are an independent, female-founded speciality coffee roasters and rebellion movement. HUZZAH! The truth is, women are underrepresented and undervalued throughout the coffee industry. To drive towards a more equal industry, they source 100% of their coffees from women producers with the focus on visibility and representation. They are also a community of rebels making positive changes in other areas that women feel pushed out of, seeking fellow anarchists who do their own thing and dismantle misogyny along the way. COUNT US IN!

Their chosen charity is Grounds For Health. By partnering with coffee cooperatives, local health organisations and in-country NGOs, Grounds For Health ensure more women gain access to life-saving care. They train local health providers in effective ways to screen for, and treat, cervical pre-cancers.

The beans themselves are genuinely good — a proper medium roast that pulls a rich, not-too-bitter shot in my moka pot. I've been buying it monthly since spring, and the fact that it supports women's health screenings just makes it an easier habit to keep.

Abigail ★★★★★

Knowing part of the price goes to a health charity made this an easy pick, and the beans themselves taste genuinely good. The roast date on the bag was only a few days old, so the first pour-over was bright rather than flat.

Hazel ★★★★★

The beans arrived roasted just days before shipping, and the crema on my first espresso was thick and hazelnut-sweet. Knowing part of the price goes to grounds for health charities makes my morning pour feel a little less selfish. Solid medium roast that doesn't turn bitter if I over-extract by a fe
